Job Overview
The Shipper/Delivery Driver works with the Warehouse Manager and the Shipping Department. In this role, the driver helps prepare materials and deliver them to active construction projects.
To do this job well, the driver must work with care and stay reliable. The job includes driving a truck with a mobile loader crane. The driver also works with warehouse staff and helps prepare orders. At the same time, the driver handles inbound and outbound materials with care.
Most importantly, the driver spends most of the workday making deliveries. The driver represents Toro Aluminum at each job site. Therefore, the driver must drive safely, speak clearly, and treat people with respect.
Responsibilities
- Follow all tasks and instructions from the Warehouse Manager.
- Also, deliver inbound and outbound materials under company shipping rules.
- After each delivery, get signed delivery receipts from job sites.
- In addition, give accurate counts to help control inventory.
- Next, complete all forms for mobile crane work, deliveries, and industry rules.
- Meanwhile, work with warehouse staff to check and secure each load.
- When needed, help pick, stage, and prepare orders.
- Also, load and unload materials with the right equipment and safe methods.
- If needed, change delivery routes when a delivery fails, a site has delays, or an appointment is missed.
- Furthermore, dispose of recycling and waste materials when needed.
- Finally, keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
Qualifications
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required. However, a Commercial Vehicle License is preferred but not required.
- Experience in shipping or warehouse work.
- Also, basic computer skills to complete digital forms and paperwork.
- In addition, basic mobile phone skills for calls, messages, navigation, and delivery apps.
- Mobile Crane Certification is preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Furthermore, good attention to detail and time management skills.
- Most importantly, a strong focus on workplace safety.
Hourly Rate
The hourly rate is $21.00–$27.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
